Fun Fitness Accomplishments
A few of my fitness accomplishments...
* 45 minutes straight of skipping (jump rope) (2005): This was a fundraiser for the Heart & Stroke Foundation while I worked with Strength Tek. Members would put money in to make the trainer of their choice skip. I skipped the full 45 minutes and only hit the rope 10 times! (Needless to say, I didn't skip for a few months after that...)
* 5 hours straight of cardio activity (2006): Another Heart and Stroke Fundraiser, this time at my gym (FitQuest Wellness & Fitness Studio). Same idea, but this time money went towards minutes to make the trainer of their choice do cardio. We raised almost $600 (great for a small gym). We did straight cardio for the full time at a moderate pace. (We made sure we had sports drinks and food on hand at all times) PHEW!
*2007 & 2008 - Participated as a "celebrity guest" in the local Celebrity Baseball game for disadvantaged children, with my little buddy, Lorne (former client)
*October 2008 - Completed my goal to run in a half-marathon. I participated in the Picton half-marathon and completed the race with a time of 2hrs 2min. The experience was all I had hoped for. I trained hard, ran farther than I ever have before, and had family and friends there to see me come through at the finish line.
